Art Gallery: Early Opening
The other morning Ripley woke up at 5:00 am. This is TOO EARLY. I thought it was because he wanted to play on his Nintendo DS. Instead, it was because he wanted to create an art gallery.
See, the night before, John had bought a painting from Ripley. A toonie in exchange for a Kandinsky inspired colours-and-shapes painting that Ripley did at school.
Ripley will work his ass off, if money results. He’ll get up at 5:00 am. I mean, he’ll do art anyway. He likes to. And he’ll read about Egypt. The burst of activity is cash motivated, though.
I really think that what motivates us – grades, money, appreciation, fear, acceptance – has got to have some innate aspect. Because 5:00 in the morning? For a toonie?
My wee entrepreneur is also currently interested in Egypt. Which is why our dining room has turned into an art gallery of modern Egyptian-inspired art.

I’d love to see the kandinsky inspired work. The Egyptian stuff is right on.
Those are super!
I wouldn’t do 5AM for a Toonie. But I have been known to do 6AM for ten bucks an hour. I’m a sucker.
That is some great art he’s doing there.
The poster is still at home (have to wait for a dry morning to take it to work) so we’ll get some photos this morning.
If I pay him FOUR dollars, can I sleep in until 8am?
