And it’s off

After procrastinating for an hour and a bit this morning because I thought I was mainly all done, I ended up re-working my MFA application ALL DAY. Now it’s off, and if there’s a mixed metaphor or passive tense laxity or a bunch of egregious spelling mistakes, I don’t want to know about it.

Gah! Eej! Boh!

That’s the same sort of stammer I used on the phone while talking to the Secretary about how to get her my (non-official) transcript. I’m a monkey. Eek Boh.

For awhile, m’Faux Pas – whose work is now up! at Rloimages!  – and I have been planning to team up for a wee Life-magazine-esque photo essay series on housing.

I’ve decided to make this my next immediate project. It’s timely, and we’ve wanted to do it for awhile.

… AND I can massage the finished project into a Journalism application. The app’s not due until January 15th, and I would like to taking a step back from fretting. Too much fretting.

Get to work!

  1. Yippee!!

  2. So I better get my part done now, eh? Meanwhile, sprinkling pixie dust on the application as it moves to the admissions office!

  3. When the 3 day novel was all wrapped up and ready to go, I wasn’t quite ready yet. You know? Three days, boom, out the door. No fretting, editing, sticking in drawers for 6 months.
I had a houseful of kids, and to formalize the situation (and let go), I asked them to blow kisses at envelope – which they all did and giggled wildly and it was silly and fun.

Last night my kids blew kisses at the application.

Kisses AND pixie dust! That’s a powerful combo, don’t you think?

Thanks for your well wishes (- and reference!)

  4. Go you! Bonspiel! (that’s my new “excited!” term)

  5. Hey, thanks for the plug.
