Phoning this post in.

I’ve been hit with a virus, and when I lie down my lungs sound like someone rocking in an old rocking chair over a pile of old dry leaves.

It’s been with me since Wednesday, and I keep thinking I’m on the mend but then I go under again. Today, we went out for a lovely walk under some beautifully turning trees, and then went on a little drive around UBC: that 3 hour excursion meant I needed to come home and lie down after eating a half pound of Tylenol. (‘Kay, not quite.) My head is just a bad scene.

John with his magical immune system is fine. Although, he points out, he had his flu shot. So it could be I have a flu.

Tate is also coughing and sick, and also has been since the beginning of last week – he stayed home with me Tuesday, so I’m a day behind him. He’s on a shorter fuse and tires easily, but hasn’t been sleeping all day or obviously nauseated.

Ripley has just started to cough.

  1. Coughing, eh? We don’t have a cough here, just a sore throat and hearty fever, so it’s probably something different. But Sean, down in the video store, says everyone’s getting their ass kicked by something or other, staggering in and asking for brainless videos to make them feel better.

  2. We started with fever and sore throat…
Of course, I do seem to be taking it rather hard compared to the 3 year old.

  3. 3 year olds are notoriously hardy. It’s us grownups who go down hard.

Hope you’re all feeling better soon!

  4. I hope you guys feel better soon. Sick is bad. November sick is a cruel joke from above.

  5. I hope you’re on the mend soon. The cough does sound bad.

  6. Ohhhhh so sorry.

The 3 year old is taking it better because you have been taking care of him his WHOLE LIFE. And *you* are allowed to feel as sorry for yourself as you want.

  7. Yikes! Hang in there, and the offer for a clean toilet if needed still stands. =)

  8. Wish I could come over and spot you some childcare while you napped!

  9. Thanks, everyone. My toilet cleaning and napping needs are well covered!
When I’m sick for this long, whenever I have a moment, I putter at cleaning; and John’s been regularly sending me to bed.
