Life on Mars<\/a> should be a very bad show, based on the elevator pitch:<\/p>\n

A cop in present-day New York gets hit by a passing car, and wakes up in 1973, still a cop in New York.\u00a0 There’s some odd crossover from present day (people he knows in 2008 are younger in 1973), and the occasional anachronism (a kid shows up at some point with a Nirvana tour shirt on).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

but it’s not.\u00a0 I dunno much about it (like who wrote it, or whether or not there was a UK version first), but it’s like a grittier version of Quantum Leap<\/a>.\u00a0 I mean that in the best possible way.<\/p>\n

Whoa, did you know this about Quantum Leap?<\/p>\n

Quantum Leap<\/strong><\/em> is an American science fiction television series<\/a> which ran for 96 episodes<\/a> from March 1989 to May 1993 on the NBC<\/a> network. The series was created by Donald P. Bellisario<\/a>, based on a concept originally created for Galactica 1980<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em> This concept was then reworked outside of the Battlestar Galactica<\/a> framework.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – The Might Mighty Wikipedia<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well now you do (and doing is half the… wait… that’s wrong).\u00a0 Now that piece of information is lodged into the same part of your brain that holds infinite amounts of 70s lyrics, you’ll never get that part of your brain working right ever again.\u00a0 You’re welcome.<\/p>\n

http:\/\/www.topatoco.com<\/a> some of the weirdest t-shirts I’ve ever seen.\u00a0 Where else could you find a hoodie with a gorilla explosively high-fiving a shark<\/a>.\u00a0 It doesn’t get much<\/em> better than that.<\/p>\n

http:\/\/www.fit-pc.com<\/a> How about a full computer smaller than a deck of cards?<\/p>\n

and I read Garfield Minus Garfield<\/a> almost daily, because of things like this<\/p>\n

and I now have a Blackberry that looks like it’s running Ubuntu<\/a>, ’cause that’s how I roll.<\/p>\n

Also, my brain hurts a LOT tonight, probably because I didn’t have dinner until 9:15pm.\u00a0 Whoopsh.<\/p>\n

I’ve been reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas<\/a>, but only after having some sort of brainfart and reading On The Road<\/a>, thinking it was also by Hunter S. Thompson.\u00a0 Do you know how weird it is to be reading a book you think you’ve seen a movie of, and then (at the three-quarter mark) mentioning it to your better-half, and having her say “Oh honey, that’s so cute, you’re thinking Fear and Loathing.”<\/p>\n

It comes from spending too much time picking fights with six-year-olds.\u00a0 Knocking me off my game.<\/p>\n

That, and writing Security Policy stuff.<\/p>\n

Messing with my head, man.<\/p>\n
