{"id":87614279,"date":"2008-11-07T00:25:50","date_gmt":"2008-11-07T07:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.geckotemple.com\/blog\/?p=87614279"},"modified":"2008-11-07T00:25:50","modified_gmt":"2008-11-07T07:25:50","slug":"nmo-day-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.geckotemple.com\/blog\/?p=87614279","title":{"rendered":"N&#8217;mo Day 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abc.go.com\/primetime\/lifeonmars\/index?pn=index\" target=\"_blank\">Life on Mars<\/a> should be a very bad show, based on the elevator pitch:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A cop in present-day New York gets hit by a passing car, and wakes up in 1973, still a cop in New York.\u00a0 There&#8217;s some odd crossover from present day (people he knows in 2008 are younger in 1973), and the occasional anachronism (a kid shows up at some point with a Nirvana tour shirt on).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>but it&#8217;s not.\u00a0 I dunno much about it (like who wrote it, or whether or not there was a UK version first), but it&#8217;s like a grittier version of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quantam_Leap\" target=\"_blank\">Quantum Leap<\/a>.\u00a0 I mean that in the best possible way.<\/p>\n<p>Whoa, did you know this about Quantum Leap?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Quantum Leap<\/strong><\/em> is an American <a title=\"Science fiction on television\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Science_fiction_on_television\">science fiction television series<\/a> which ran for <a title=\"List of Quantum Leap episodes\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_Quantum_Leap_episodes\">96 episodes<\/a> from March 1989 to May 1993 on the <a title=\"NBC\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NBC\">NBC<\/a> network. The series was created by <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Donald P. Bellisario\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donald_P._Bellisario\">Donald P. Bellisario<\/a>, <em><strong>based on a concept originally created for <a title=\"Galactica 1980\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galactica_1980\">Galactica 1980<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em> This concept was then reworked outside of the <a title=\"Battlestar Galactica\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Battlestar_Galactica\">Battlestar Galactica<\/a> framework.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; The Might Mighty <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quantam_Leap\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well now you do (and doing is half the&#8230; wait&#8230; that&#8217;s wrong).\u00a0 Now that piece of information is lodged into the same part of your brain that holds infinite amounts of 70s lyrics, you&#8217;ll never get that part of your brain working right ever again.\u00a0 You&#8217;re welcome.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some of my recent fave things in the form of a linkdump from my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delicious.com\/zenrender\" target=\"_blank\">Delicious Bookmarks<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ziipa.com\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.ziipa.com<\/a> is a web site that&#8217;s a collection of what else but other web sites.\u00a0 Nice layout.\u00a0 Mostly search engines, very hip, very Web2.0a++<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.topatoco.com\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.topatoco.com<\/a> some of the weirdest t-shirts I&#8217;ve ever seen.\u00a0 Where else could you find a hoodie with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.topatoco.com\/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&amp;Store_Code=TO&amp;Product_Code=RB-HIGHFIVE-HOODIE&amp;Category_Code=RB\" target=\"_blank\">a gorilla explosively high-fiving a shark<\/a>.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t get <em>much<\/em> better than that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fit-pc.com\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.fit-pc.com<\/a> How about a full computer smaller than a deck of cards?<\/p>\n<p>and I read <a href=\"http:\/\/garfieldminusgarfield.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Garfield Minus Garfield<\/a> almost daily, because of things like this<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/media.tumblr.com\/fSymsOGXOfp5etg4nwJwMhZyo1_500.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and I now have a Blackberry that looks <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu-unleashed.com\/2008\/09\/ubuntu-theme-on-your-blackberry.html\" target=\"_blank\">like it&#8217;s running Ubuntu<\/a>, &#8217;cause that&#8217;s how I roll.<\/p>\n<p>Also, my brain hurts a LOT tonight, probably because I didn&#8217;t have dinner until 9:15pm.\u00a0 Whoopsh.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been reading <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fear_and_Loathing_in_Las_Vegas\" target=\"_blank\">Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas<\/a>, but only after having some sort of brainfart and reading <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/On_the_road\" target=\"_blank\">On The Road<\/a>, thinking it was also by Hunter S.
