Had some friends over tonight for Deb’s going away party. \u00a0Was nice to see some folks that I hadn’t seen in a long time. \u00a0Got to see some excellent bellydancing, complete with TWO swords on her head. \u00a0In our living room. \u00a0That’s right. \u00a0Swords. \u00a0Living room. \u00a0Zills, too. \u00a0Shing-chicka-sheeng.<\/p>\n

More sugar that I can safely shake a stick at, too. \u00a0Emma made these crazy pirate cupcakes. \u00a0I had a grass (island?) one.<\/p>\n

Everyone’s gone home now, and we’re sitting on the couch with our laptops, watching Will & Grace. \u00a0Karen Wheeler makes me swoon.<\/p>\n

Was driving around and listening to some music, and it was reminding me of the a conversation I was having earlier about music, and that someone was feeling they don’t have any music that they’ve found for themselves in a while. \u00a0I suggested finding a decent streaming radio station (like RadioParadise<\/a>,) and working it out from there. \u00a0She was saying that she was really into Eastern music due to the belly dancing, and hasn’t found music she listens to just for fun.<\/p>\n

I know that feeling, of not having any good new music source. \u00a0I think that’s how Jonny Vancouver\/Hutong and I got started doing the podcast(s) a few years back. \u00a0Just generally talking about music and what stuff we liked, and it the rest is 36 episodes of musical history.<\/p>\n

I hope she finds some new music, and I look forward to what it might be.<\/p>\n
