Friday Confessions.

Almost everything that happened to me this week was Dad-related or a result of Dad-related. Not a lot of energy for hijinks.

There was one highlight other than a live dad: My boss asked if I wanted to be Head Teacher at the place I work. W0ot! Would I ever! But then, something happened and it made me question everything.

1) I refused to simply give up my after-work students to stay at work more. No. Nosirree. The woman who schedules keeps forgetting that I have to be somewhere after I finish at work, and that I hold these commitments in high regard. Tutoring is important for me, and it’s important for my students. To a certain extent this misunderstanding is a cultural thing. Korean workers are assiduous in the workplace. I am too, but I have more than one workplace.

2) After about a half an hour I gave in and said that I would ask my Monday kid’s dad if it was okay to move the session half an hour. It was the best compromise I could come up with. So I was wimpy in the face of conflict.

3) Now, I sort of wonder if that was some kind of loyalty test to see if I am Head Teacher material. Meh. Now I am a suspicious bitch.

Any confessions from anybody else?
