So I got a call today from Translink’s Director of Communications. I explained what happened last Wednesday, that I was early for the bus that never came, resulting in a $50 cab fare to get to the 9am ferry.
Translink’s buying my December bus pass. Thanks, Translink!
How is it I have lived most of my life in Vancouver, and yet I had never been to the Hadassah Bazaar?
I remember seeing ads for it when I was a teenager, but it was at the PNE grounds, and that was too far to bus just to see something I might not care about.
The venue changed to the Greek Orthodox Church, which is nearer to me, and Em had a van, so we checked it out.
The sale itself wasn’t so much. It was big, but like a jumble sale, not so many crafts. But the food! Oh man, cheese blintzes with sour cream and strawberry jam. I was in heaven! IHOP’s version is as a pale shadow in comparison. I should have taken some home, but they just wouldn’t have been the same.
Next, I need to learn to make cheese blintzes. Because I can’t wait a whole year to have them again.
