That’s all I have to say about that.
Here’s the MBOverload Pak of Firefox Extensions… Worth it even if only for the Sidebar.

Maybe one that’s SILENT.
Researchers recover typed text using audio recording of keystrokes
The researchers were able to take several 10-minute sound recordings of users typing at a keyboard, feed the audio into a computer, and use an algorithm to recover up to 96 percent of the characters entered.
Berkeley, you magnificent bastards.
I don’t know how to say this. This bunny-hopping thing? Needs to stop. Counter-strike pretty much got it right, where you’re allowed one functional jump, and then you’re stuck where you land for about a half-second to a second. Not only is seeing four guys jumping up a beach while you’re trying to shoot them frustrating, it’s also completely ludicrous. Jumping in sand barefoot wearing nothing but swim trunks gets tiring for most folks in no time flat. Now try it in combat boots, full fatigues, and 40-60 lbs of equipment strapped to your back. No, seriously, try it. Okay, but now sprint first. Hang on, to make this simulation more accurate, I’m going to have to shoot at you. No, no, it’s okay, just wear this body armor…
In response to someone looking for new music, I replied with this, so I’m bloggin’ the thang…
Weird: on Saturday, I was bombing around looking for a few things, and decided to give Konfabulator a run again. The site appeared to be sorta messed up, so I assumed it was me, getting a little overzealous with the IP Blocking, but as it turns out, I’m guessing they were working on a rewrite of their site, and I caught them in the act. I’m so far ahead of the curve, I’m getting hit by the wave itself.
Seriously though, Konfabulator is free, and very pretty (at least, some of the widgets are). Go get yourself a truly beautiful analog clock for your desktop right now, or maybe just a little coloured cube that tells you (with one of eight colours) what the weather is like outside. Or (OR!) you could just go outside.
According to Eurogamer, the alarmingly-good-looking Stalker:Oblivion Lost won’t be released now until at least next year.
Go drown your sorrows in some screen shots.
Task Coach is a simple open source todo manager to manage personal tasks and todo lists. It grew out of my frustration that well-known task managers, such as those provided with Outlook or Lotus Notes, do not provide facilities for composite tasks. Often, tasks and other things todo consist of several activities. Task Coach is designed to deal with composite tasks.
Installed it in a couple of seconds, started it up, figured out how it all worked in another 30 seconds.
FREE.
Why can’t Microsoft figure this out?
WellGet is a download manager similar to GetRight (does multiple streams and all that good stuff), but here’s the thing: It works just fine in Firefox and IE. One installer, two browsers. Boom.
Of course, I’ve got the FlashGot extension installed, so maybe that’s why it’s working…
Still, kinda pretty, kinda smart. Oh, and allows you to start playing media files as soon as they start downloading, no more of this “I can’t play that ’cause it’s being written to” stuff.
Check it out.
For a nice little text-only round of “what was that sample from?”
