Wow, so now the web cam actually works for more than a few hours at a time. What a concept. I had to finally just pull the entire machine apart completely, and then put it all back together again before it’d talk to me at all. Must’ve shorted something out. Glad to see this board working again.

Sothink SWF Decompiler is pretty cool. Finally got to pull apart the Weebl & Bob samples so I can start making some music with them (and send them to Weebl, of course.)

Ernie Cline is a very angry man. He’s also a huge nerd. Go on, boy. Not work-friendly, but pretty freakin’ funny. His diagrams are pretty squippy too…

Actually, I did manage to get The Home Gallery working without incident. Now, if only I could figure out how I managed to get that working at home, ’cause I want to get NetJuke working, ’cause that, I’d probably use even MORE than the Gallery App.

Just gotta dig the fact the the description is a displayed variable. Something kinda oldschool about that, huh?

What are YOU doing?

I’m installing Windows 2000 Pro on a workstation for a new artist starting next week (or maybe it’s the week after that?) and listening to SolidSteel on streaming audio. I’m also testing out the HelpDesk made by OneOrZero. Pretty hot, really. We’ve tweaked out the graphics (thanks to Andy Lang for that) so it looks like something somewhat official. Nice.

Oh yeah, and the cam is on here at work.

See? It’s on. (at least, it was, once).

So here’s the big question:
What am I going to use this Blog for? I mean, c’mon. What have I actually got to say about anything?
That’s the cardinal rule of having a personal web site, isn’t it? If I had a radio show, what would I do on that? Maybe I’d just kinda make silly noises with a keyboard and some samples for a while.

Speaking of which: I’ve been sorta interested in playing around with the Ableton Live 1.51 software, ’cause it looks like a pretty neat idea. Normally, I just use Sonic Foundry‘s looping and remixing tool, Acid 3.0g

So that’s all I’ve got to say for today, I guess. Maybe a little more later, ’cause the Win2k Pro install is just about finished.

It would appear that Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 does something funky to the WindowsUpdate installation capability. Way to go, MS… :^)

Yeah, so I’m sick, kinda sorta. Mostly I’m just feeling kinda headache-y, which is good.
Chatting with Fitz (who’s back in town from LA with his sister) is also Good ™.

Looking forward to heading home, and hanging out with Rippity Roo, and I sure hope Arwen’s feeling better soon. She gets sad when she gets sick, y’know?

Oop, gotta get this Win2k machine done. A rebuild after a(nother) IBM 30GB 7200 RPM drive packed it in.

Sweet! I just found out I’m getting my music (GeckoTemple) played on CBC3‘s NewMusicCanada show on Saturday Aug10th at 11pm. I’m listed as a HipHop artist (or at least clumped in with the others, but hey, airplay is airplay).

Also, DJ Clarence, who spins upstairs Saturday nights at SONAR in Gastown is dropping off some video clips from the Winter Music Conference in SanFran last winter, so I’m going to be pulling some vocal/voice samples from some of those clips, and (we hope) making music from them. We’ll see, I guess.

Oh yeah, and Arwen’s sister (who she’s never met) is in town for the next little while.
