Beautiful short film. Digitally animated.
Took me quite a while to find it, since it’s called The Delivery, and that is, not surprisingly, a common phrase around the internet. Thank goodness for MetaFilter…

So… I installed this plugin that claims it’ll display related posts. What I don’t know is how it’s determining that things are related? If I say gecko wombat toe music pants glitter, is it going to relate that to anything I’ve said before?
If so, yikes.
I think more people should do this in public. Maybe there can be paritcular places where it’s being done, or maybe it just works better when nobody knows what the hell you’re doing.
Click the pic to see what I’m talking about.

and check out some of the other cool/funky/funny ads these people have put together.
Harmonica and Beatbox all comin’ outta the same dood…
Requires Flash and Audio (and maybe some fat-ish pipes, but it just took a second to start up on DSL for me.
I already can’t remember where I found this, but this cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” performed by Hurratorpedo, on a guitar, a cube freezer, and a stove…
…no really…
…kinda kick ass.

Obsessive gamer Storm Troopers get a Vader-visit
The 203rd Desert Expeditionary Legion (A Company) are a group of Star Wars Galaxies gamers who are really into being Storm Troopers. They drill, patrol, take shifts and work military discipline among themselves. After doing this for some time, the game-masters in SWG decided to reward them for their diligence: so they dispatched a virtual Darth Vader to go to their camp and give them a pep-talk:
I’m sorry. I dig that it’s becoming smooth enough of a flow that gamers can do things like drills and things, but I’m not entirely sure why I would pay money to stand in line… It is pretty cool though that Darth Vader showed up… The SWG guys seem to be doing some pretty cool stuff, but it’s still not the same as craziness that the World of Warcraft folks pulled off when they ended their Beta test. Instead of just turning off the world, they sent in these huge monsters that just killed everything in sight.
Very cool.
So now I’m at Hamburger Mary’s on Davie, and just getting ready for today’s run-around after a morning of sorta zoning out and staring at stuff. Can’t wait to see what Ripley looks like in his kilt. I’ll have to make sure I get lotsa pictures tonight and tomorrow, ’cause I know people have been complaining that I’m not posting enough pictures of him.
This time, I’m doing it via a different method.
Let’s see what happens.
Check out this video if you’ve got Quicktime and Broadband.
Very nicely done. Catchy little tune too.
So, yet another side effect of the upgrade to WordPress 1.5 was that comments were being flagged as spam by WordPress was that *ALL* of the comments people were leaving were being marked as spam, and then tucked away in my database, without telling me it was happening.
GUH.
So, it’s all back, but then round two will be adding the “Human Check” question back into my comment stuff. That seemed to work fairly well, actually.
Sorry for having your names show up on the side there, but not be able to READ it.
