“Spark” is here, and it’s three days later, and we’re home now. Cute little boy, Arwen’s blog has the first photo. More updates in a bit, but I’ve gotta make pancakes for Rip and I.
Arwen’s doing really well, and the contractions are around 4-5 minutes apart, 50s+, and are getting pretty intense, all of which is good. Lots of sitting around and reading stupid magazines (People, Cosmo, InTouch, Lifestyle, Walrus, Star, Wired, Geist), and then Arwen going “okay, time” and everyone jumping to their battle stations (me rubbing back and shoulders, Emma helping talk her through the contraction, Grammas being there for emotional support).
Doing well, more reports later.
In the meantime, you can giggle at our friend Sam’s Photoshop silliness:

Arwen went into labour with baby #2 this morning (Saturday) at around 4:30am, and she’s progressing nicely. Further news as events (and Internet access) warrant. We’re hoping that this time it takes a lot less time (was 30+ hours last time), and a lot less back (back labour last time).
Think happy thoughts for us.

Just a bad idea.
I don’t know what sorta rookie would do that, not *ME* of course, but just in case someone out there was thinking about doing it, I’m telling you it’s not a good idea.
I have this… friend who’s now got a 1.0.7 installation that will load up, but won’t LOAD a page, or let me enter an address, or pull down any menus. Safe mode, too. Was playing with extensions, and found that more than half of my faves (especially SAGE, Googlebar, and Sidebar), don’t work under 1.5b.
Poop.
Boy, I sure feel bad for my friend this morning. What a dummy.
That’s all I have to say about that.
Here’s the MBOverload Pak of Firefox Extensions… Worth it even if only for the Sidebar.

Researchers recover typed text using audio recording of keystrokes

Berkeley, you magnificent bastards.
Ever wondered what it’s like to be an ESL teacher/tutor in Vancouver? Who talks about vibrators with people in the UK? With a 4096-bit vocabulary? And belly-dances? While thinking about how to keep little Asian folks from trying to make friends with coyotes?
Wonder no more. Liz has start bloggin’. Go check her out
