(A) was just checking our financial state vis-a-vis credit cards today, and the silliness that went on in December with my card has a second part:
There’s about another $1,000 worth of transactions in Madrid that were made in December of last year (and a few early January of this year) that are just being posted now. In June. Interesting, very interesting.
The Security folks at CIBC Visa are on it (again), but YEESH.

Some kids thought it would be funny to replace our main page (Index) with one of their own design. Personally, I think ours looks better.

Just got added to the users that’re allowed to post on LockerGnome’s Bits&Bytes section. Nifty.

Here’s the thing. I was playing around with some software (namely, System Commander), while I had the mp3 drive in my workstation (see the 11.04.03 post), and what happens when you use SC for the first time? I sets all but the main drive & primary partition as hidden. The thing they don’t mention is that their “hidden” is proprietary, and can’t be undone by Partition Magic, or pretty much anything else. I had to reinstall the SC and then unhide the partition on the mp3 drive before anything was visible. Went through 48 hours of thinking all my mp3s were gone (again) before remembering what I’d done.

Okay, so don’t try this at home.
Big Drive in a Win2k machine, formatted NTFS.
Move drive to my XP workstation to burn some stuff (faster than transferring over WAP).
Move drive back to the Win2k machine.
Hmm…
Yep, doesn’t see the partition. Calls it HPFS (Linux) partition, asks if I want to format it.
Niiiiiiiiiiiice.
So yeah, I’ve found out that there’s an NTFS 5.1 that XP uses, and it just upgraded it for me. How Nice….
Effers.

Just trying to find out which way my feet are glued on here.
It’s going to be fun once I figure it out though.

Proxy + has a number of very smooth and well thought-out capabilities. I’m running it here for my Wireless to pass through, and it’s free for two users (seems to run just fine on Win2k server, unlike AnalogX’s Proxy, which is usually just great, but kept crashing on my server (it would disappear after a minute or so).

I just wish I knew how I’d managed to turn on the errors…
Well, not turn them ON per se, but enabled their diaplay…
Very annoying.
