Put noises in your head.

In response to someone looking for new music, I replied with this, so I’m bloggin’ the thang… Fun, wrong, AdBusters: DJ Spooky’s “Live Without Dead Time” Pink Floyd vs. the BeeGees: Scissor Sisters – Self-Titled From the Disposable Heroes Guy: Michael Franti – “Everyone Deserves Music” Can’t really vouch for it m’self, but I bet Jamiroquai’s new album – Dynamite isn’t all bad. Coldcut‘s new album is coming soon, but in the mean time, check out The Avalanches‘ track “Frontier Psychiatrist” and if Groove Salad is a little too low-key for ya, come up for air once in a while at RadioParadise

Now with 83% more… DARK?

the Wit (73% dark, 30% spontaneous, 5% vulgar) your humor style:CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you’re probably an intellectual, but don’t take that to mean you’re pretentious. You realize ‘dumb’ can be witty–after all isn’t that the Simpsons’ philosophy?–but rudeness for its own sake, ‘gross-out’ humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat. I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer. Your sense of humor takes the most effort to appreciate, but it’s also the best, in my opinion. Also, you probably loved the Office. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/. PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Jon Stewart – Woody Allen – Ricky Gervais My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 83% on dark You scored higher than 0% on spontaneous You scored higher than 0% on vulgar Link: The 3 Variable Funny Test written by jason_bateman on Ok Cupid

You’re gonna put what in the what now?

Okay, so a while ago, I got one of these free MP3 player things, and since I think Arwen listened to it, uh, once, I’m bombing around on the net looking for weird things I can do with it. …and end up stumbling across this little gem of mistranslation: To hug AutoBaby and enjoy easeful and comfortable car life in network age, Autobaby is the new lover in network era. I mean, it’s BLUE backlit and everything, and 128MB, and doesn’t require any software to run it, unlike my little rubberized friend that I listen to during my morning commute. But c’mon… “new lover?” Where were they even going with that?

Konfabulator now free – Yahoo!

Posted On Monday, July 25th, 2005 By Zen Render

Weird: on Saturday, I was bombing around looking for a few things, and decided to give Konfabulator a run again. The site appeared to be sorta messed up, so I assumed it was me, getting a little overzealous with the IP Blocking, but as it turns out, I’m guessing they were working on a rewrite of their site, and I caught them in the act. I’m so far ahead of the curve, I’m getting hit by the wave itself. Seriously though, Konfabulator is free, and very pretty (at least, some of the widgets are). Go get yourself a truly beautiful analog clock for your desktop right now, or maybe just a little coloured cube that tells you (with one of eight colours) what the weather is like outside. Or (OR!) you could just go outside.

Just because otherwise her Google result is zero

Tanya Annicchiarico is not an alien or a time traveller. Just for the record.

According to Eurogamer, the alarmingly-good-looking Stalker:Oblivion Lost won’t be released now until at least next year. Go drown your sorrows in some screen shots.

Overheard in New York

Posted On Saturday, July 9th, 2005 By Zen Render

Overheard in New York has a collection of things overheard on the streets and subways of New York. Eg: A guy and a girl are sitting on one side of the train, talking. Another girl is sitting across the train. Girl #2: Stop confusing her. Guy: We’re not confusing her, we’re making fun of you. –R train Good stuff, but not always safe for work. May also cause you to think people in New York (not necessarily New Yorkers) don’t know where they are. I guess they took the “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere” line too far, and think that since they’ve made it to New York, they effectively arrived everywhere at once.

Remember to go back to some of your own links once in a while…
